Skill India Mission
Skill India Mission (SIM) aims to empower youth with employable skills and knowledge. It is an ambitious initiative of the Government of India which was launched in July 2015 by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
A visionary initiative like Skill India Mission is the need of the hour which will boost the overall economic condition of the country and will synergize education, training and work to make India the skill capital of the world.

Under the scheme, the youth who are less educated or drop out of school in the middle of 10th-12th are given training.
Under the Skill India Mission, youth do not have to pay fees for joining the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana.

In which areas training is given under Skill India mission ?

- Youth getting training under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana will get personal accident insurance of ₹ 2 lakh. This will be for 3 years.
The third phase of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana has started from March 2020. In this, the goal is to increase its scope to train more and more youth.
In this government scheme, emphasis will be on promoting modern skills like Artificial Intelligence, 3D Printing, Robotics, Big Data, VR, Internet of Things.
A budget of ₹ 3000 crore has been set under this scheme for the 2020-21 session.
