NDA Exam to join Indian Navy.


12th pass or appearing candidates can apply for NDA exam. It is necessary to have 60% marks in 12th. NDA entrance exam is held twice in a year.

This entrance exam is conducted by UPSC. NDA Exan can be given only by unmarried male candidates. For NDA exam, the candidate must have a minimum height of 157 cms. Age should not be more than 16.5 to 19.5 years.

There are two papers in this, the first paper is of 300 marks in which 120 questions from Mathematics are asked. The time taken for this is 2.5 hours.

The second paper consists of the test of English and GS. It is of total 600 marks. Its duration is also 2.5 hours.


10+2 (B.Tech) Cadet Entry to Join Indian Navy


Male candidates with Maths, Physics and Chemistry subjects in 12th can apply for this. For this, it is mandatory to have at least 70 percent marks in 12th.

Shortlisted candidates are called for interview by SSB. For this the age limit should be between 16.5 to 19 years.


Join Indian Navy As a Artificer Apprentice ( AA )

AA in Indian Navy means Artificer Apprentice. It is also called the X Group of the Indian Navy. This is a technical job in Indian Navy.

As an Artificer apprentice, the sailor has to do highly technical work and for this they are given complete technical training.

An artificer is supposed to handle steam powered machinery, diesel and gas turbines, guided missiles, self-propelled weapons, sensors, computers and advanced radio and electrical power systems.

Indian Navy conducts AA vacancies twice every year.

Educational Qualification for AA

  • It is necessary to have 12th pass from a Central or State recognized board.
  • In class 12th with Mathematics, Physics as main subjects, Chemistry or Biology or Computer Science as one of the subjects.
  • Have at least 60% marks in 12th.

Written Exam:

Selection is based on Written Exam, Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and Medical Examination. Multiple objective questions are asked in the written exam.

The written test is conducted in both Hindi and English languages. One hour is given for this. Questions related to English, Science, Maths and General Knowledge are asked in the question paper.

The questions are of 12th level. It is mandatory for the candidate to pass in each section.

Senior Secondary Recruitment in Indian Navy


Navy SSR stands for Senior Secondary Recruit. By joining Navy SSR after 12th, you can become a part of Indian Navy, one of the most powerful navy in the world.

This is a non technical post. Through SSR, candidates can become Sailors in the Navy, Sailors are soldiers of the Indian Navy. They are given high level training. Along with this, training is given in both walking and handling weapons.

After 22 weeks of training, the sailors have to work according to their branch or trade. Sellers are given branches as per the need of trades like Electrical, Communication, Logistics, Engineering, Seaman, Aviation and Medical etc.

Qualification to Join Navy SSR :

  • Must have passed 12th from recognized board. Maths and Physics are compulsory in 12th, with any one of the subjects in Chemistry/Biology/Computer Science.
  • Age: Between 17 to 20 years.
  • Height: 157 cms and the candidate should be physically and mentally fit.

Exam Pattern to join Navy SSR :


For Navy SSR, a candidate has to go through four stages. Written Exam, Physical Exam, Medical Exam and Merit List.

The written test is online and objective type questions are asked. 100 questions are of 100 marks. A time of 60 minutes is given for this. At last the merit list is prepared. The candidates included in this list are given training at INS Chilka.

Syllabus: Questions are asked from 12th level English, Maths, Science and GK. Candidate must have passed in every subject.
